Regarding the TB mare that was purchased Monday, we found out today who she is... her identity is restored.  Her name is Track Rat she was foaled in Maryland 5-14-02 her sire Awad who won over 3 million dollars in his career and was retired last year, 2006 to "Old Friends" in Kentucky. 

Track Rat raced on 5-11 at Charles Town for the last time she had 33 starts and won $48,335 in her career.  She celebrated her 5th birthday on 5-14 then fortunately for her AC4H found her after she was purchased for slaughter by Don Nickerson on 5-21-07...  and with donations from FOB's and the AC4H discussion forum we were able to pull her to safety.  Thank you for saving her life.

  Multiple winner TRACK RAT should not be confused for a rodent in the breeding shed. TRACK RAT offers breeders a chance to hit it big on a budget! By three million dollar earner Awad, this mare offers a great opportunity for those inclined to breed for turf or synthetic tracks. With great mares in her pedigree like Queen Sucree, Smartaire, Cosmah and Shenanigans, it should surprise no one if this mare becomes a black type producer, as well. Carrying no Mr. Prospector or Northern Dancer blood, this mare is well suited for many different stallion lines. Breeding possibilities abound, hopes for a "Poly monster" should be abundant, as well.
  Being an outcross to Northern Dancer and Raise A Native influences, this mare has very interesting possibilities and can mother an appealing foal going several different directions. Polytrack breeders may want to utilize her "poly-friendly" bloodlines and go to a son of Danzig, Dixieland Band, Storm Cat or Forty Niner (especially through Distorted Humor), or may want to roll the dice and take this mare directly to "Poly Kings" Royal Academy or Honour And Glory. Rasmussen disciples can have fun with this mare, too, as Icecapade decendants such as Rocking Trick, Intidab, Offlee Wild, Milwaukee Brew, Chicago Six or Zavata to name a few, offer positive linebreeding to Shenanigans, dam of Ruffian among many others, or to Smartaire, through sons of Smart Strike. A Tenpins-Track Rat foal would be about as well suited to polytrack as any foal ever bred. Werk nick ratings are extremely interesting with this mare, as well. She produces a coveted A++ nick with three diverse stallion lines, sons of Unbridled, Northern Afleet or Phone Trick. Kentucky Derby winner Grindstone may be a great cross with this mare in a reasonable budget range. In my humble opinion, a Phone Trick line stallion is the way to go with this mare, as you benefit from several different schools of thought, with my choices being Rocking Trick, Zavata ot Intidab. Take a chance on this mare and breed her to a son of Phone Trick. That way, a Rasmussen, Werk or synthetic track fan can bid against each other over your foal!
