~Check coggins in regards to your horse make sure everything matches before you take the horse home - it is recommended that you let the horse rest for several hours prior to reloading and shipping sometimes health certs are combined on a single sheet fax'd or mailed copies availble upon request you should receive the coggins with your horse~

 
~give the horses hay for about 15 minutes prior to giving water - do not grain for 24 hours and then introduce slowly - give freechoice hay.

 

~check for signs of possible dehydration - the shippers take precautions but electrolytes will help when they arrive.

 

~check for good stomach sounds and watch for bowel movements

 

~watch for diarrhea or discharge from nose - although common if it persists you should seek medical advice from a professional.

 

~make an appointment with your vet for your new arrival for an examination to ensure everything is well.  Schedule a time for Vaccinations - we recommend letting the horse rest 1 - 2 weeks prior to receiving vaccinations. (consult your vet)

 

~ we recommend an easy wormer such as safeguard or daily wormer harsh wormers can possibly cause the horse to bind when trying to pass the parasites, again consult your vet.
