18 hand draft roan gelding he is lame on the front left his frog and soft part of his hoof are soft, tore and in need of rehab/attention.  He is walking around without problem but is sore.  He also has thrush.

Picture bottom right is of his hoof the soft tissue is on the right side of the picture.

He has been trimmed and is being treated for thrush/infection we expect a full recovery.

2-8-06 followup visit with farrier - His lamina is exposed but the soft tissue has been removed and his hooves cleaned up he is walking a lot better now.

3-1-06 follow up was great!  His feet look wonderful and he is walking sound.

3-8-06 Vet was out to assist farrier with diagnoses he has Canker although he is walking ok the canker needs to be removed.  It is ugly and takes a lot of time to treat- soak, treat with topical and wrap but he prognosis is great for  100% recovery after treatment. His left foot has more canker than the right.  He was sedated for the entire process to keep him comfortable and as soon as it was finished he went right back to happily munching hay.

In #1 pictures you can see the canker it is white in color

#2 Pictures you can see the canker being cut away there is a lot of granular tissue that the body is sending to try to heal the area and granular tissue bleeds a lot as you will see in the next several photo's

His treatment will consist of soaking, wrapping and keeping him in a contained dry area.

3-30-06 volunteers Kattie, Jen, Abby, Mashaune assist with cleaning, medicating and wrapping Symon's feet.  In the pictures you can see granular tissue.

7-1-06 scheduling checkup with vet and farrier for sedation, trim and recheck on progress.

7-13-06 Farrier trimed Symon's feet and cut out any dead hoof and canker.
