"Abandoned" horse, first one that we or the vet office have ever had knowledge of being abandoned at this auction.  She had collar marks most likely an amish road horse.  She went through quarantine at AC4H and quickly found a home.  All that is needed is a larger viewing audience and more time for them to find a home.

In some parts of the world, horsemeat is a delicacy. Nearly 100,000 horses from the U.S. are slaughtered for human consumption, and many of them are thoroughbred race horses who can no longer race. It is illegal to slaughter horses for food in the United States, so the horses are often crowded into trucks and sent across the border to Mexico or Canada where their meat will eventually be shipped overseas.
