I have heard of this sire many times and his foals have sold for thousands. His stud fee costs more than her price listed at the Brokers Lot. http://touchdownkid.com/  He died in 2004, but there is still a limited amount of his frozen semen left, which is listed on the site.   Proven broodmare.
In my eyes, this mare is a very valuable catch for someone that's into showing etc. She's quality bred and generally one of his offspring would cost thousands.

Horse helpers called - No help offered. Dave Merritt is 80 years old and I spoke to his wife...they sold this horse as a yearling for $1200 and apparently, the person who originally bought the horse from them, never transferred the papers. Said they have been breeding for 35 years and are holding on to their now 30+ horses that they cannot sell. She said if they cannot sell a horse now, they keep it because they are aware of slaughter and the ongoing issue of breeding. They cannot take back this horse and feel bad, but they are over their heads anyway because of the economy. She also said that someone else already called yesterday about this mare...I am wondering if it was someone from FB, as we have no messages on the HH group that someone had already called. 7-22-23 - Palomino gelding approximately 15 hands and older gentle boy in your pocket personality.  During the evaluation he exhibited in my opinion a sticky stifle this can happen with a slip or quick movement and typically resolves on it's own.  We had a horse in our rescue that did this it resolved on it's own and his family reported it hasn't ever happened again.

No heat, swelling or lumps found during my examination.  No sign of pain - accelerated heart ratbje, sweating, latharginess - he was in good spirits and seeking out attention very much in your pocket.
