Rick spoke to the doctor in charge of
reporduction who cared for Amber this morning. Apparently
some changes have been made at CSU - they used to buy the horses for
their program but now they lease them and they go back to the farms they
were leased from. Amber was there for a couple of years and is listed
as an Oldenburg but they do not have papers for her. He said that she
was pregnant twice the first time it was her own egg and she miscarried
the second time she carried as a recipient and did carry to full term.
He reported that she was a very nice mare to work with and he was happy
that she was safe.
Amber is very nice mount she does have a
nice head carriage and is easy to work with she is more of a ring horse
than a cross country horse she does better with another horse as company
on trails than she does alone but Jen and Rick have been working on
taking her out alone and she is getting braver :>)
