"Cherry" - 6-22-Bay mare AC4H was asked to help this mare she went down at the auction the vet checked her and we couldn't find anything wrong she was given bantamine and got up and ate, went to the bathroom and acted like nothing was ever wrong. Honorless Rascal has been with AC4H for a few months now. He's a big boy and stands approx. 16.0-16.1 hds. Upon initial evaluation and riding he was super quiet. He was recently evaluated under saddle and is very green. He will also need lessons in flexing his muscles- in his neck and poll area and consistent lessons to bring him along. Basically treated like a horse that's just been broke, all he knows is track training, going only on direction by cue, no flexion and has a great deal of stiffness throughout his body when asked to move forward at a trot. A lot of ground work will be necessary, walk/trot/canter transitioning to lay a foundation for under saddle riding.

Chas - Chestnut QH gelding approx 10 yr old 15 hands This is a very nice boy. The saddle slipped during eval and I had to tighten it he didn't stand 100% still to tack or be mounted but that can be worked with... then the saddle was again off center (slipped back) when riding and he could have used this for an excuse to buck but didn't. He did everything he was asked is super willing to please. Nice boy thumbs up on this guy.

6- Percheron Hafflinger cross was reportedly used for logging/pulling and those marks you see are rub marks possibly from harness. This boy is quiet! He needs to be gelded (both are dropped) but would be well worth it. During evaluation didn't even look at another horse was tied next to a mare and you wouldn't know he was "in tact". I just talked to the lady that sold Dollar about a month ago. She had him for 5 years. He has no vices, clips well, shoes well, etc. Goes out on trails, does some jumping. He did not fox hunt. He did lessons for 5 winters and then did summer camp types of things in the summer. He is very educated! The horse came from another owner that treated him as a pet. He was mostly trail rode. He is fine in a herd. He takes a little more feed and he likes attention! He has all of his teeth. Not sure about last years coggins. Rabies 2 years ago. He has had the standard 4 in 1 vaccination.

We saw her on Saturday at the tributary sale she rode really well and brought good money they planned to resale her today but she was tied next to a standardbred with borium road shoes who landed a kick on her front left shoulder and she couldn't go through the sale 3 legged so that kick was her death sentence... slated for slaughter due to not being able to go through the ring. We purchased her after the sale.

Olivia morab mare - approx 15.2 hands and approx 7 yr old. She has good ground manners gentle and willing- seeking companion or foster home. Olivia is a good girl. We are working her slowly under saddle. She lunges, ties, stands quietly for grooming and tacking is personable and friendly. She gets along well with others is non aggressive. She would require someone with experience to continue working with her. The one vice that she has is that any pressure on her nose she would respond by backing up and then if pressure doesn't stop she will start to rear. When mounting she stand but then when she feels weight she starts to move backward. Once settled she will move forward and is very easy to work with but because of her vices possibly from rough handling or trying to force her it is very important that an experienced handler who is gentle and patient works her through this.

Dentist said nothing can do - he is currently on hay cubes/senior feed (fiber included) and holding his own. He does not pick up his feet will need stocks.

Paige asked if we could assist her in remembrance of her horse Buster who passed away. Paige was wondering how she would choose a horse to save and we had checked out several as there were many in need... then this boy came through the ring and it was announced that his Amish owner had passed away and he was brought to the sale after living many years on the same farm and being a loyal and faithful worker his name, Buster... the very same as name as Paige's horse and she knew immediately that this was the sign that she was looking for. Paige won the bid and Buster was safe. He is now at AC4H and is in quarantine.

P/Kim thank you for providing the perfect home for the perfect semi retired gentle giant.

Joseph - approx 7 yr old qh that we were alerted to via the kill buyer. We believe this horse went through the Unadilla auction and was purchased for slaughter from there went to the kill buyers holding lot in NY and we received a call Sunday am. He is reported to ride quietly, ransom was raised by FOB's and AC4H yahoo group with Tee (Lifelines cheering for him all the way) - his life was spared, thankfully and he is now at AC4H quarantine. Picture taken via cell phone at direct to slaughter pen in PA where approx 80 head shipped out to slaughter yesterday.
